Refreshed with Windows that last

by | Feb 28, 2024 | Aluplast, Before and After, Lucy

Our clients have been pondering over the decision of what to do with the existing timber frames for several years now. The paint was chipping from weathering, and the pinkish colour no longer suited their home.
They decided to opt for a complete replacement of the timber frames rather than just repainting them every few years. This decision was made after considering the long-term maintenance costs, durability, and sustainability of the frames.

During a morning walk, they stopped to chat with someone walking by who mentioned that Solace Creations recently replaced their windows and doors. This led our clients to visit our showroom and explore our products.

During the design process, several critical factors were taken into consideration to ensure the final product met the client’s expectations. These factors included the view, operational function, and the client’s request to be able to hear the birds of the morning when the windows are open. Their design consultant, Lucy, paid particular attention to the placement of the windows, ensuring that they would provide an unobstructed view of the surrounding environment. Additionally, she ensured that the windows could be easily opened and closed to allow for proper ventilation.

Overall, the design process was carefully executed to create a final product that met the client’s needs and desires. They selected Anthracite frames on the outside with White on the inside. This created a harmonious look to match the external features such as the garage doors, eave trusses, awning blinds and carport. The white frames on the inside provide a blank canvas to invite the outside in and bring a fresh modern look.

For opening styles, they chose awning windows that are hinged at the top and wind outwards, this replaced the previous timber awnings that had a chain mechanism. The improved awnings feature a scissor mechanism that makes it simple to wind them out. Instead of the thirds and halves configurations of many of the previous windows, we designed 1/3 awning with 2/3 fixed. This created a cleaner view through the windows. They opted for sliding doors in the lounge and dining areas, which are equipped with a convenient sliding flyscreens. Our clients also went with a few fixed windows in areas that did not require an openable window, these fixed windows act as a feature that frames the gorgeous garden and surrounding nature’s views.

The homeowners can now enjoy the benefits of newly installed windows and doors, which will provide them with better insulation, increased energy efficiency, and improved aesthetics. The new windows are expected to serve the family for many years, ensuring a comfortable living environment without the added maintenance of the previous timber frames. We were happy to hear that they are now wanting to refer Solace Creations to others.
