Low Maintenance & High Insulation
This home in Tuggeranong was a typical example of local architecture. The front of the house featured timber awning windows and aluminum sliding windows at the back of the house.
The clients were facing an issue with maintaining their timber windows. The windows had Georgian bars, which meant that each window had several small glass panes. This made cleaning the glass a cumbersome task, as they had to clean each pane individually, with dust being collected in each bar. The 3mm glass contributed to the problem by making the windows draughty and uncomfortable for the clients. Additionally, the frames required frequent touch-ups and repainting to maintain their appearance.
With the upgrade to Aluplast uPVC awning windows by Thermotek Windows, our clients could lower the maintenance without compromising their appearance or functionality.

Despite having replaced their sliding door within the last five years, the homeowners decided to upgrade it again. This time, they opted for a smart slide system that comes with a compression seal. The previous sliding door, although relatively new, was still single glazed, and as a result, caused a lot of drafts during the winter season. The homeowners were looking for a solution that would not only improve their home’s energy efficiency but also provide better insulation. With the smart slide system, they were able to achieve both.

In addition to the sliding door replacement, the homeowners also upgraded their laundry door. They replaced the old door with a full uPVC door. This upgrade not only provided better insulation but also improved the aesthetic appeal of the laundry room. The homeowners were pleased with the outcome of both upgrades, and they now enjoy a more comfortable, energy-efficient, and stylish home.

In the bathroom and WC, they selected Cathedral obscure glass that provides plenty of natural light into the room. The Cathedral glass is textured and picks up on the colours outside the house beautifully.
