Valhalla Lodge
In 2023, Team Solace headed to the Snowy Mountains to give the Valhalla Lodge in Perisher a major face-lift. We replaced 38 old leaky timber windows and doors, and 88 glass units with brand new insulated uPVC double glazing.
Located at 31 Candle Heath Road, Perisher, the Valhalla Lodge is nestled between stunning mountain ranges and offers their guests king ensuite rooms, social lodge dining, oversnow transfers and more. The install team at Full House Developments enjoyed staying on site during the week of install taking in the beautiful views and crisp mountain air.
Due to the altitude in the Snow Mountains, the double glazed glass units required breather tubes to stop the pressure building up. Special thanks to Australian Glass Group for their assistance in producing and delivering these units to site.
Our clients wanted to replicate the aesthetic of their old timber windows and chose Deceuninck frames by Forever Green Windows in the Nut Tree colour. Nut Tree is a dark and rich timber-look uPVC profile with a realistic grain texture. They now get the best of both worlds – timber-look frames without the added maintenance involved such as painting and timber repairs.
For opening styles, they chose awning windows that have a tight compression seal and do not interfere with the inside of the rooms. As well as a variety of fixed windows and highlights that frame the views perfectly. From the living area onto the deck, they chose a lovely french door.
Even in the harshest environments double glazed uPVC windows and doors stand up to the elements and provide insulated comfort all year round. Our clients and their guests now enjoy no draughts, lower energy bills and a cosy haven after hitting the slopes.
